Characters may experience difficult, disturbing or non-consensual situations. Players do not.

<aside>

IC consent and OOC consent are not the same thing. A character may refuse, resist or be unable to consent within a scene while every player involved has agreed OOCly to the roleplay.

Consent Sheets

A player's Consent Sheet establishes their boundaries and applies to all roleplay involving their character. No PvP consequence, IC agreement, storyline or other server system overrides those boundaries. Your Discord and in-game Consent Sheets must remain synchronized, and if your boundaries change, both must be updated so other players have accurate information to work with. Consent to one scene, consequence or type of roleplay does not automatically imply consent to another.

Sensitive Roleplay

Roleplay involving content restricted by Consent Sheets must only take place when everyone involved has consented OOCly. Sensitive scenes should be kept private or sufficiently isolated to avoid exposing uninvolved players to content they have chosen not to encounter. If another player encounters a sensitive scene organically, adjust, conceal or fade the content as necessary to respect their Consent Sheet; accidentally walking into a scene is not consent to participate in or witness its sensitive content.

Prohibited Content

Sexual content involving minors, animals or corpses is prohibited. These boundaries cannot be enabled through a Consent Sheet or agreed to between players. Characters portrayed as minors are prohibited separately under Character Standards.

LFRP

LFRP is an OOC discovery tool. It allows players to find active roleplay; it does not represent consent, guarantee availability for a particular interaction or provide IC knowledge of another character's location. A player having LFRP enabled does not waive any boundary on their Consent Sheet.

Visibility is not consent.

Pregnancy

Pregnancy is exceptionally rare on New Hope. It is not a routine concern, an expected part of character life, or a recurring roleplay theme. Players do not need to include fears of pregnancy in their characters' stories simply because the possibility exists in the setting.

A Narrow Exception: Early Pregnancy Loss

Pregnancy-related RP is permitted only when adult players voluntarily choose to explore early pregnancy loss, grief, and its emotional aftermath. This is a limited exception for character-driven storytelling, not permission for general pregnancy RP.
